I’m an eagle scout

At the wee age of 17 I made the rapid-fire decision to earn my Eagle Scout with only 4 months left until I aged out of Boy Scouts. And naturally, I pulled it off.

I have traveled to 47 out of 50 states

Yep. Dare I say it, but yeah I’ve been around. Mind you this is across my whole life (mainly as someone under 18 years of age) so I have yet to get the “full” experience in all those states. In 2021 I went to my 47th state, Maine.

I’ve represented the usa in sailing by competing in a lightning youth worlds

I can thank sailing (and going to all sorts of regattas around the country) for influencing my love for traveling and exploring. One fateful Junior North American Championship in the summer of 2009 allowed my team to qualify for the Youth Worlds Championship in Salinas, Ecuador in 2010

Had the wild idea to traversed the Atlantic Ocean 635 nautical miles by sail power alone

Even after a shoulder injury put me out of commission midway through 2021, I started planning to jump on a sailboat to do the annual Newport to Bermuda race in June 2022. I managed to find a boat willing to put up with my antics and made land ho at Bermuda in under 4 days. Call me crazy, but ready to do the journey again in 2024.

on average I listen to 4 new albums a week

So do you Bandcamp? No? And here I thought we could be friends 😢. But to the point, since my college days back in 2010 I’ve been infatuated with all sorts of music that span all genres. You will often find me listening to music as I design.

midwesterner from missouri who sailed

Nothing says Missouri like sailing. Wouldn’t you agree? Now you know why I ended up in Baltimore. But I’ve been sailing for as long as I can remember.

once joined a bunch of mountain bikers for a weekend trip with no prior experience

On a whim, I took a trip to Bentonville, AR with a group of people I barely knew. Using a rigid frame rental with zero suspension. Then proceeded to shred some of the most beautiful and difficult trails for beginners. Talk about beginners’ luck! What proceeded next was some of the most thrilling experiences of my life. A few months later I bought my first mountain bike.
